Just a short walk from Gyeongridan-gil in Itaewon, The Baker’s Table serves up unpretentious European comfort food that feels like a genuine surprise to find in the middle of the city. Crusty homemade bread, hearty European-style soups, and sandwiches that are clearly made with real care — not just an afterthought on the menu.

While you’re looking over the menu, start with the bread and olive oil. The dense loaf comes with a properly baked, sturdy crust, pre-scored so it’s easy to tear apart right at the table. It’s good enough that you might accidentally fill up on bread alone before the soup even arrives. The tomato soup is smooth, gently herbed, and topped with a few croutons — it’s exactly what you’d hope tomato soup tastes like, but rarely actually find. The mushroom soup leans quieter and earthier, perfect for one of Seoul’s many gray, humid afternoons.
